Assa Abloy
I was serving as the main UX designer on several projects within the hospitality industry (hotels and student living). My responsibility was to keep the designs in line with the needs of the users of multiple roles and come up with the visual design for implementation. I also spearheaded the process to include the product visual design within an organisational design system for both branding and ease-of-development purposes.
I worked close with PO, PM and the development teams throughout the development cycle. After implemenation continuous follow ups with stakeholders and end users occurs to determine potential iterations of designs.
Tasks included in projects
- Research (qualitative and quantitative)
- UI design (Web and Mobile)
- Sound design
- Copywrite
- Small amount of design for hardware interfaces was involved
- PO advisor in prioritization scenarios
Below follows brief examples of features I have worked on through the years.
Vostio Access management
Cloud based access management for hotels. The challenge was to create a user friendly, non cluttered lock system for all the staff at an hotel that, in short, not only needs to create, revoke and edit different types of RFID keys but also those who takes care of maintaining the system at the property. Designs were for both web and mobile (Android).

Vostio Location Solutions
Cloud based security solution using indoor tracking technology that was developed as a response to the growing need for staff at hotels to protect themselves in potentially dangerous situations. The challenge was to create an very easy to use system showing only the most important information in a clear way during stressful situations. The system also grew to include other tracking features used by hotels which also added to challenge of keeping it simple.

Mobile Access
Student living solution where the key is sent to and used through the users mobile phone. The challenge was first to completely redesign architecture and UI from previous web version. Next challenge was to keep up with growing set of features that need to be included in the mobile app (iOS and Android) and still make it simple to use. UI designs should also be in line with expecations from a user group such as students.
